Mountains constitute a large proportion of the geographic environment of Oman, and the diverse environments in the mountains, flora and fauna, both in the north or south, in the northern mountains of Oman there are the stone, which is divided by the Wadi Samail into two east and west, and the (Sun Mountain) in the Green Mountain region of the highest stone mountain with a height of 3000 meters above the ground. In the south the mountains of Dhofar region extends from east to west length of about 4000 km off the Halanyat to the border with the Republic of Yemen, and the Jabal Samhan in the Middle Mountains of the Moon and the most prominent mountains in the west region, and the high for this series in 2500. In the governorate of Musandam mountains rise to 1800 meters above sea level.
